This Family’s All Smiles! :: Frederick, Maryland Family Photographer

So it’s fall, but  our time with the gorgeous fall foliage in Frederick County has come to an abrupt end because of all the rain.  So where do you go for outdoor family portraits?  Why downtown Frederick, of course–one of my favorite places in the area!

Meet the Prather family, a truly wonderful and hilarious family that I could have spent the entire evening with.  This family has it all…the humor, the understanding, and the compassion that keeps a family glued together.

Miles and Maya were up for anything downtown, and happily suggested some fun spots for photographs, too.  Aren’t they both gorgeous?!  They made sure we captured some funny photographs, too.

Lots of love to the Prather family  for inviting me to capture these memories for you!

The Company of Friends :: Washington, D.C. Family Photographer

You know what’s better than loving what you do for a living?  Combining it with the company of your friends!  This is my dear friend Colleen, her husband Dan, and their precious son Davis.   Colleen and I went to college together and lived in our first “home” in D.C.  together  for two years following our graduation.  We’ve been roommates, partners in crime (no really, but that’s a different post!), and the maids of honor in each other’s weddings.  I love her dearly and am so grateful we live near one another as our families continue to grow.   Lots of love to the three of you!

Happy to see you again! :: Northern Virginia Family Photographer

I love this family!  I was so happy to be invited back to their home a year and a half and another beautiful girl later…!  You might remember these pictures of precious Catie from last year–check out those baby blues!

Miss Catie has grown so much since my last visit and she was full of smiles!  She had plenty to tell me and we even sang lots of songs during this session.  She even taught be one I haven’t heard before!

Meet baby sister, Claire.  How sweet is she?!

Sister love.

We captured tons of family portraits, too, but this series makes me smile.  I love capturing the moments before the more formal posed shots…check out big sister teaching little sister what she needs to do. :)

And now we’re ready for the camera!  In addition to the wonderful family in this shot, I love the sidewalk chalk on the brick wall.  LOVE IT!  It looks like Catie has been quite busy during this beautiful fall weather.  Lots of love to the P. family for inviting me to capture memories for them again.

Babies, Babies! :: Frederick, Maryland Newborn Photographer

It seems to be the season for newborns right now…I photographed three in one week and am anxiously awaiting the call from two moms that their bundles of joy have arrived!   Just a few to share with you this evening.  Don’t you just want to hold them?!

Giving is Awesome :: Family Portrait Session Give-Away!

You know someone.  You know someone who has experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances.  You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season.  You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone.  I guarantee it.

Who Loves You :: Washington D.C. Maternity Photographer

I’m fairly certain I met one of the most beautiful pregnant women on earth this week. Mary is truly glowing during her pregnancy–her energy and smiles are absolutely contagious! I loved every minute of this session with Mary and Buck, especially hearing about their plans for their little one and their fascinating life “on the road”. Buck and Mary are here in D.C. just temporarily; Buck is performing in the musical “Jersey Boys” playing now at the National Theater. He and Mary have been on tour with the show for a year and a half now, and will enjoy a well-deserved break after their little one arrives.

Check out Mary’s yoga pose in this set…she is a prenatal yoga instructor and wished to incorporate this into her images.

Lots of love to you both during this very special time in your lives. Thank you so much for inviting me to capture these memories for you!
