7:00 on Sunday | 32 seconds, 32 years

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a “7:00 on Sunday”.  Three weeks to be exact, and I’m pledging now to get back on track.  I do have to make one tiny exception for this post, however.  These shots were taken as the clock ticked past 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6th.

My dear friend H invited me to capture images of the labor and delivery of her third child, an experience that I will forever cherish and carry with me for the rest of my life.  To have witnessed her strength and courage on one of the most important days of her life is truly amazing to me.

At 7:10 p.m.,  H’s precious baby girl made her entrance into this world.  Just seconds old, her mama was already snuggling her close; I witnessed their first moment face-to-face with one another.  At this moment, I remembered to photograph the clock, and noticed the second hand ticking at 32 seconds.  Thirty-two seconds old.  Just hours before my 32nd Birthday.  To imagine  in that moment, what an amazing life she has ahead of her–where she may be in 32 years– was so amazing.

Happy Birthday to you, sweet girl.  May your life be filled with much love, laughter, and happiness.

Holiday Mini-Sessions, Round One | Frederick, Maryland Family Photographer

A few highlights from my first day of Holiday Mini-Sessions… a beautiful day with four beautiful famililes.  :)

Let the holiday season begin! | Frederick, Maryland Family Photographer

Last weekend kicked-off what I affectionately call my crazy season; five family sessions in two days, perfect weather, and lots of hilarious kids, sweet babies, and even former students of mine (who may or may not be waaaay taller than me now)!  Between this special season in my photography, football, pumpkin patch visits, and trick-or-treating around the corner, I am officially blissed out.  *sigh*

The Yi family kept me smiling on Saturday afternoon; these sweet kids brought along their huge smiles and even some special toys to include in their images.  J. brought his awesome airplane and C. toted her talking, stuffed panda along the way.  You’ll notice that panda is missing from most of the shots here because he was busy helping me operate my camera.   ;)   C. thought Panda would like some individual portraits, too, so she helped me take a few.

Much love to the Yi family for inviting me to capture these portraits for you!

Together | Frederick, Maryland Family Photographer

I absolutely adore this family, truly I do.  Strolling the historical streets of downtown Frederick on a crisp fall afternoon can hardly be described as work, especially when you’re enjoying time with a family like the Purcells.  A year ago this month, they welcomed a fifth addition to their family, and as a photographer, that means even more Purcell cuteness to capture now!  The love this family shares for each other is truly unique; capturing their smiles and the tightly-knit bond they share is always enjoyable for me. Much love to the Purcell family for inviting me to capture these images for you!

Ava Grace | Frederick, Maryland Baby Photographer

Photographing six-month old babies is really a treat–they’ve just learned how to sit up on their own and they’re entertaining you with a variety of fun expressions.  Ava had so many different smiles to show me during our session together, and lots of squeals and drool to accompany them!  Isn’t she adorable?!

I Heart Faces Challenge #38 : Smirk

This week’s I Heart Faces theme is “Smirk”, and I think this image of my daughter is very fitting, don’t you think?  I’m really trying to read her mind here, trying to imagine what’s going on in that precious head of hers.  I’m imagining, ”Seriously Mom?!  The camera again!?”.  Or perhaps she’s scheming here…plotting her next adventure with her little brother, a new hiding place in the house, or just a new and amusing way to exhaust Mom. :)

Whatever it may be, she’s ridiculously adorable.

And baby makes five… | Frederick, Maryland Family Photographer

Sweet goodness, I love photographing families…especially when they are friends of mine!  The Estridge family are not only my friends, but wonderfully, my neighbors, too.  Heather nominated the Legge family for last year’s  Giving is Awesome Campaign, winning the Legge family and her family a portrait session with me.  We walked around Baker Park for these images on a gorgeous evening…so exciting to already see the leaves starting to turn with the season!  I love fall!

The Estridges are expecting a new addition to their family this November, and I’m already so excited to introduce myself and my camera to baby girl Estridge!  Lots of love to the four of you during this exciting time in your family’s life!

2010 Holiday Card Collection | Frederick, Maryland Family Photographer

Previewing the greeting card templates I have available for the 2010 holiday season… hope you enjoy the variety and versatility with these collections!  If you have any questions about them, please let me know.  Custom-designed, press printed cards are available to all 2010 clients, and are included in all Holiday Mini-Session packages.

AND THE WINNER IS… | Winner of the Holiday Mini-Session Give-Away

When you tell two toddlers to “dress-up because we’re about to do something special”, you have to prepare yourself for what may take place.  My daughter wanted to wear an elf hat and zebra-print socks for this give-away drawing and, well, my son opted for a stethoscope.  Only the finest for our fans, right?!

We stirred up these names together, then my daughter closed her eyes, scooped some up, stirred them again, almost sent my glass bowl tumbling down my brick stairs, and picked one name out.

Warmest congratulations to….

My thanks to each contestant and the number of friends and family who helped them in this contest! I am offering a $100 print credit to ALL of the other contestants if they choose to book a Holiday Mini-Session.  Please contact me as soon as possible, as I only have a few remaining session times for the remainder of 2010.  Happy weekend, everyone!

Zack, Middletown High School | Frederick, Maryland Senior Portrait Photographer

Zack and his family met me after cross-country practice for this shoot in downtown Frederick…I love all of the wonderful colors and textures in the city! Zack just began his senior year at Middletown High School.

Lots of love to the B. family for such a fun evening…and for hanging with me as we walked the town until the sun went down!
